Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a glass-to-wall clamp and a glass-to-glass clamp?
A glass-to-wall clamp has a flat back plate on one side that screws to the wall and a glass-gripping jaw on the other. A glass-to-glass clamp grips panels on both sides with no wall mount. Use the wall clamp where a fixed panel meets a tiled wall, and the glass-to-glass type where two panels meet at a corner.
Why does this clamp come in both 304 and 316 stainless steel?
304 is the standard marine-grade-enough choice for bathroom hardware and covers normal shower use. 316 adds molybdenum, which gives noticeably better resistance to chlorides — that is the version for coastal areas, salt-air bathrooms, or swimming pool changing rooms where the standard grade can eventually spot. Prices differ, so we quote per grade.
What glass thickness works with this stainless wall clamp?
It fits 8–12mm tempered glass. The jaw and gaskets are sized for that range, and the stainless body carries the panel without the flex you would get from a lighter material. For panels heavier than typical 12mm glass, tell us the weight and we will check the clamp size against it.
Can the clamp be installed over tiles without cutting into the tile?
The back plate mounts over the finished tile surface with screws through the tile into the wall behind. In most installations the installer drills through the tile, so it is not strictly 'no drilling', but the plate covers the hole once fitted. The key is that the substrate behind the tile is solid; hollow tiles need to be bridged or filled.
Can I order the same clamp in both 304 and 316 to compare?
Yes, sample pieces of either grade are available at a sample fee. For a full project order, 50 pcs is the standard minimum and custom-logo OEM orders start at 500 pcs, with a 15–25 day lead time. If you are not sure which grade your region needs, tell us the installation environment and we will advise.
