Frequently Asked Questions
What components come in the complete balustrade hardware set?
The set covers a full frameless balustrade: floor spigots, glass clamps, railing posts where the design uses them, base shoe for continuous infill, standoffs and point fixings, plus handrail tubes with their connectors and end caps. You build the kit per panel and we supply the matching pieces in one order. Most projects end up as a spigot-and-clamp combination with a top rail.
How do I know which parts my balustrade actually needs?
Send the panel layout and railing height and we list the bill of materials. The deciding factors: freestanding glass uses spigots and top clamps; glass in a frame channel uses base shoe; a handrail adds tubes and brackets. We do not sell a full system when two components cover the run - the quote is trimmed to your layout.
What panel height and glass thickness is this designed for?
The hardware is machined for the standard balustrade envelope: panels 900-1100 mm high, typically 10-12 mm toughened glass with gaskets matched to thickness. If your spec goes taller or thicker, we adjust spigot spacing and the anchor plan accordingly. We do not publish a blanket load rating because it depends on the fixing pattern and substrate - that is confirmed per project.
Can this system be installed indoors on a mezzanine or atrium edge?
Yes - indoor mezzanine and atrium balustrades are a common application, and 304 is normally the right grade since there is no weather exposure. The difference from outdoor work is the fixing substrate - steel beams or timber instead of concrete - so the anchors change. Tell us the floor build-up and we spec the right fixing. Polished or brushed finishes work well indoors.
Is the system compatible with a handrail from a different supplier?
Possible, but risky at the joint - our clamps and rail brackets are machined to our tube outer diameter. If you already have the rail, send the tube size and clamp details and we check compatibility before you order. Cleaner is to take the rail with the kit: then the clamp pockets, connectors and tube all come from the same batch and finish.
What are the order minimums and lead time?
Samples are 1 pc (sample fee may apply), standard orders from 50 pcs per item, and OEM/custom-logo orders from 500 pcs. Production runs 15-25 days. For balustrade projects we batch all components in one run so the finish is consistent across spigots, clamps and rails - one PO, one finish batch, one delivery.
