How is this clamp lock fixed to a frameless glass door?
It is a clamp lock: two stainless plates grip the glass edge and are drawn together with bolts, with rubber gaskets between plate and glass so the panel is not scratched or point-loaded. The locking bolt then engages a keeper mounted on the frame or adjacent surface.
What glass thickness does it fit?
It is made for standard frameless door panels, typically 8-12mm tempered glass. Confirm your glass thickness when ordering so we supply the correct gasket and bolt length. We do not recommend clamping thin, non-tempered or annealed panels.
What material and finishes does it come in?
The lock is 304 stainless throughout, available in brushed nickel, chrome, or matte black. For humid or coastal sites we can quote 316. Finishes are applied after machining, so edges and gasket faces match the visible surface.
How is the cylinder and keying handled?
The lock uses a standard cylinder with keys supplied. On bulk orders we can key several locks alike so one key serves every door on a floor; send the number of doors and we match cylinders accordingly.
Is it suitable for a commercial entrance?
Yes. The clamp spreads force across the glass edge rather than into a single screw, so it holds up on office and commercial entrance doors used throughout the day. It keeps the frameless look because no hardware is drilled through the face of the panel.
