Is the 701 a top fitting or a bottom fitting?
It can be ordered for either position. The same body style fits the top or bottom edge of an 8-12 mm door, so specify top or bottom when you order. For a matched pair in one go, consider 699 or 704, which bundle both positions for one door.
Which glass thickness does it accept?
8-12 mm tempered glass, the standard range for frameless commercial doors. Gaskets sit between the metal and the glass, so the panel edge is not in direct metal contact. Glass thinner than 8 mm or thicker than 12 mm is not recommended for this clamp.
Is this for indoor or outdoor use?
In 304 stainless it suits indoor commercial doors - offices, retail, lobbies. For outdoor or coastal exposure we would steer you to the 316 versions (697 top / 698 bottom), because the extra corrosion resistance matters when rain or salt reaches the hardware. The finish options are the same either way.
How do I install the hardware on the glass?
The glass needs pre-drilled holes using our drilling template; the fitting is then bolted through with screws and gaskets and torqued to spec. We send the template with the order so your glazier can drill before delivery. No special tools beyond a standard hex key and a torque wrench.
Can I get custom colors or a logo on this fitting?
