A pivot support bar combines two jobs: it supports the glass panel structurally and acts as the pivot point the door swings on. Instead of a rigid clamp on the hinged edge, the door pivots at the top and bottom through this fitting, which keeps the frameless door stable while allowing smooth opening. It is the core hardware of a frameless swing door.

The bar is made in 304 stainless steel and is designed for typical frameless shower doors in the 8–12mm tempered glass range. If you are building a large or unusually heavy door — say a wide 12mm panel — send us the door dimensions and weight before ordering so we can confirm the pivot bar and hinge set can take it. We prefer to check than to over-promise on capacity.

Frameless pivot systems of this type are normally set up to swing in the direction the installer adjusts, with the pivot pins top and bottom taking the hinge function. If your layout requires a specific swing direction, in or out of the shower, confirm it when ordering so we can supply the corresponding pivot configuration and advise on the opening.

The pivot takes the full door load at two points and sits in constant water exposure, so the material has to be corrosion-resistant and strong. 304 stainless steel meets both — it will not rust through in a bathroom and keeps the pivot joint precise over thousands of openings.
