Handrail Tube Stainless Steel Glass Railing Top Rail System

Standard top rail is 42.4 mm or 50 mm round stainless, with 1.5 to 2.0 mm wall depending on span. Square top rail is available in 40x40 or 50x50 mm. Tell us your post spacing and local handrail code - those decide wall thickness and whether internal reinforcement is needed. Both 304 and 316 grades are available, in stock lengths or cut to your elevation.

Yes. We cut to length, drill the post-fixing and glass-clamp holes, and make bends or mitres for corner returns when you supply a shop drawing. Joint welding and grinding is normally done on site; we deliver the tube pre-cut with holes in the right positions so the installer only tightens the fittings. Radius bending is available for curved balconies - confirm the radius before ordering.

Two common ways. With clamps: the rail sits in a top clamp that grips the glass edge and holds the tube above it. With posts: the tube slides over or bolts onto steel posts, and the glass panels are clamped between the posts below the rail. Both keep the glass fully framed at the top edge. Send a photo of your existing system and we confirm which bracket pattern fits.

Matte black PVD or a powder coat holds up better than bare polished chrome in sun and rain, and brushed finishes hide finger marks on hand contact. For a high-traffic handrail, specify brushed or textured rather than polished chrome - polished surfaces scratch visibly with daily use. Brushed nickel, chrome, matte black and custom colors are all available.

We supply fixed stock lengths, usually 3 m and 6 m, or cut to your panel widths for glass-railing projects where the rail spans multiple panels. For continuous runs we recommend ordering the full run plus one connector per joint - seamless joins look better than visible couplers on a top rail. Lead time is 15-25 days including cutting and drilling.
