Frequently Asked Questions
How does this lock work on a pair of pivot doors?
For a double glass door, the lock mounts on the active leaf and the keeper or strike sits on the passive leaf or frame, so the second leaf is held by the first. That gives one locking point for the whole opening, which is the standard arrangement.
Does one lock secure both leaves?
One lock on the active leaf holds it to the frame, but the passive leaf needs its own top and bottom flush bolts to be fully secured. Most commercial double-glass-door installations combine this lock with flush bolts on the passive leaf; we can quote the set.
What glass thickness does it fit?
It is designed for standard frameless door panels, typically 8-12mm tempered glass. Confirm the glass thickness when ordering so we supply the correct clamp gaskets and bolt length. The gaskets sit flush on both faces so the lock body does not rock when the bolt is thrown.
What material and finishes does it come in?
The lock is 304 stainless in brushed nickel, chrome, or matte black, with custom colors on 500-pc OEM orders. For humid or coastal locations we can quote 316. All fasteners and plates are the same grade, so there is no mixed-metal corrosion.
How is the cylinder and keying handled?
It uses a standard cylinder with keys. On bulk orders we can key several locks alike so one key opens all the doors on a site; tell us the number of doors and we match the cylinders.
How is it installed on the glass?
The lock body mounts on the glass using the supplied hardware and the strike positions on the mating leaf. Fixing can be clamp style or bolt-through depending on the model, so confirm which you need when ordering and we send the matching installation drawing.
