Frequently Asked Questions
What does '45 kg per pair' mean — is that the door weight limit?
It is the combined rated capacity for a pair of bottom pivot hinges — the maximum glass door weight the pair is designed to carry. For a typical frameless shower door this is normally plenty. If your door is wider, taller or in heavier glass, send us the dimensions and we'll confirm whether a single pair still works or you need a top guide added to share the load.
How is a bottom pivot hinge installed — does it need a hole in the glass?
No, and that is the main advantage. The pivot mounts to the floor or shower tray, and the glass door sits in the bottom pivot cup — the door itself does not need to be drilled, which keeps the tempered glass intact and speeds up installation on site. You will still want a top pivot or guide to keep the door upright. The body comes in aluminum alloy, brass or stainless depending on the finish you need.
Can the door swing both ways or is it single-acting?
Bottom pivots are typically set up for a single swing direction in shower applications, though the pivot itself can be oriented left or right depending on your layout. Since the whole door weight is carried at the pivot, make sure the floor or tray is level and solid before grouting — an uneven base strains the pivot. Tell us your swing direction and glass spec and we'll confirm the correct parts.
What finishes are available to match my bathroom hardware?
Brushed Bronze, brushed nickel, chrome, Gun Gray and custom colors. If the rest of your fixtures are, say, brushed nickel, order the same finish code and the set will match. Custom colors follow the same MOQ and lead time as the standard range. For heavy-traffic bathrooms, a PVD-style finish wears better than standard plating — ask us when you place the order.
Will aluminum alloy parts corrode in a shower?
The aluminum alloy version is surface-treated, but for constant wet exposure we would steer you toward the stainless (SUS304/SUS316) or brass options — they are more forgiving in a shower environment. Aluminum is lighter and cheaper and works well where the pivot is largely hidden. Tell us whether the installation is residential shower, commercial or coastal and we'll recommend the material.
Do you offer samples and what is the lead time?
Yes — 1 pc for samples (a sample fee may apply), 50 pcs for standard orders and 500 pcs for OEM/custom logo work. Lead time runs 15–25 days depending on material, finish and quantity. If you are quoting a project now, send the door size, glass thickness and swing direction and we'll confirm availability before you commit.
