Non-Spring Glass Hinge Wall to Glass Shower Door Hinge

Non-spring means there is no return spring in the hinge - the door will not pull itself shut. You push it open and it stays where it is; you push it closed and it stays closed. That is useful for glass partitions and shower doors where a self-closing door would be unwanted, and it removes the one moving part that wears out over time.

The wall leaf screws into the wall structure, so it needs a solid anchor - a wood stud, steel frame, or proper masonry fixing. Tiled drywall alone will not hold a swinging glass door. Before installation, locate the studs or reinforcement behind the tile; if there is nothing solid at the hinge position, fit a reinforced plate or header first. We can supply screws for standard anchor types.

It is designed for 8-12mm tempered glass, the standard range for frameless shower doors. The door leaf clamps the glass between two plates with rubber gaskets and through-bolts; drilling must be done before tempering. Confirm your glass thickness when ordering so the clamp plates are matched. Use two hinges per standard door and three for tall panels.

The brass body is coated before shipping, which protects it from steam as long as the coating is undamaged. Dry the hinge after heavy use and clean with mild soap - never abrasive pads or ammonia cleaners. It is also available in SUS304 and SUS316 if you would rather have zero-maintenance stainless for a constantly wet shower.

Anywhere a self-closing door would be a problem - a glass partition between two rooms, a shower door that people leave open while using the space, or a door that would slam shut under its own spring. Because there is no spring tension, the hinge also operates smoothly with a light touch, which is pleasant on bathroom doors that are used often.
