How does this connector attach to the wall?
The 706 is a wall-to-glass connector: the wall side fixes to the substrate with anchor bolts (concrete, steel, or timber depending on the site), and the glass side clamps the 8-12 mm panel with gaskets. It is used where a frameless glass panel butts into a wall at 90 degrees, such as shower screens or office partitions.
What is adjustable about this connector?
The swivel joint lets you set the angle between the glass and the wall and adjust it slightly during installation to take up out-of-plumb walls. You lock it with the set screws once the glass is in position. This saves a lot of shimming on real sites where the wall is not perfectly flat.
Which glass thickness does it accept?
8-12 mm tempered glass. The clamp and gaskets are sized for that range, which covers standard shower and partition panels. If you need 10-16 mm, the glass-to-glass connector 705 is the one; for 8-12 mm wall returns, this is the direct fit.
Can I use it for a shower screen?
Yes - it is a common fitting for frameless shower screens and bathroom partitions where the glass turns into a wall. For wet areas order the 316 version, which resists moisture and soap residue better than 304 over the long term. The finish options (brushed nickel, chrome, matte black, custom) stay the same.
Does the glass need holes drilled?
Yes - the glass is drilled and the connector bolts through with gaskets. We supply the drilling template. Because tempered glass cannot be drilled on site, pass the template to your glass fabricator before the panels are hardened.
Is a single connector enough, or do I use several?
Normally you use multiple connectors along the glass edge - the spacing depends on panel size and the load the screen takes. As a guide for typical 8-12 mm panels we can recommend a spacing if you send the panel dimensions. The connector is rated for its role in that layout, not as a stand-alone hanger.
