Fixed and adjustable versions — which do I order?
The fixed version has a set projection, so it is fast to install on a clean, plumb substrate. The adjustable version extends and retracts on site, which helps when the wall face is slightly out of plumb or you need to bring panels to a common line. We stock both.
What is the standoff projection from the wall?
Projection depends on the model you select and how far you want the glass off the structural face. Tell us your desired clearance and glass thickness and we will supply the right body length. Long projections should be checked by your engineer for bending load.
What glass thickness does it handle?
It suits standard tempered balustrade glass in the point-fixing range. Confirm your glass thickness and the hole diameter when ordering and we will match the boss and back plate. For oversized or laminated panels, we size the fitting to your actual spec.
What does the wall substrate need to be?
The fixing takes real load, so the substrate should be structural concrete or steel. Anchor bolts and shields are supplied with the fittings. On brick or thin render, you will need an engineer's detail for the anchor before installation.
Coastal terrace job — will the finish last?
Specify ss316 and we recommend a PVD finish such as matte black or brushed nickel. The combination resists salt attack much better than 304 with painted finishes. If your site is near the sea, say so when ordering and we will set the grade and finish accordingly.
