Does the glass have to be drilled?
Yes — a point-fixed standoff works through a drilled hole in the glass, with the panel sandwiched between the front boss and the back plate. Drilling must be done before tempering, so plan the hole positions into your glass order. We can supply the hole template with the fittings.
How many standoffs per panel and what spacing do you suggest?
For a standard balustrade panel, two points per panel edge is the common pattern, with corner and center support depending on panel length and local wind loads. Send us your panel size and we will recommend a fixing layout; final spacing must still be checked against your engineer's calc.
