Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose an aluminum bottom seal over PVC or acrylic?
Aluminum gives a rigid, square-edged profile that holds its shape against the door bottom and resists warping for years. It's stronger than plastic profiles, which matters where the seal gets knocked by feet or mops. The trade-off is that it's a straight rigid piece, so it suits straight door edges.
What finishes are available on the aluminum profile?
Brushed nickel, chrome, gun gray, matte black, and custom colors. The aluminum can be anodized or painted to match your hardware finish, so the bottom seal doesn't stand out from the rest of the enclosure. Custom colors need a production minimum.
Does the aluminum profile corrode in a shower?
The alloy is selected for wet service and finished with a protective anodized or coated surface, so it resists corrosion in humid bathrooms and won't rust like untreated steel. The sealing insert inside the profile does the water deflection; the aluminum carries the structure.
What glass thickness does it fit?
It's for frameless shower doors in the standard tempered glass range. The profile clamps or slides onto the bottom edge of the glass with the sealing lip facing down. Confirm the glass thickness when ordering so the channel width matches.
Can the profile be cut or supplied to exact length?
Yes. Order standard lengths and cut on site with a fine-tooth saw, or for OEM orders we cut to your door width at 500 pcs. Measure the bottom edge length before ordering. Aluminum cuts cleanly; deburr the cut edge so it doesn't scratch the glass.
