Aluminum Tube Connector and End Cap for Glass Railing Handrail System Top Rail Fittings

It is made for our aluminum handrail tubes - the 42.4/50 mm round and 40x40/50x50 mm square sections - with a matching spigot or sleeve. You would not run it on steel tube: the outer diameter tolerances and thermal expansion differ, and a mixed-metal joint needs isolation anyway. For steel rails use the stainless connector.

The cap is a spigot-fit piece that slides into the tube end and is secured with a small grub screw or adhesive depending on your preference. Screw-fixed caps stay removable for access to fixings; adhesive-fixed gives the cleanest face with no visible screw. Say which you want and we supply matching caps for all tube ends in the order.

Anodizing is the most UV-stable finish for aluminum - the color is part of the oxide layer, so it does not flake or peel and holds tone outdoors far better than paint. Matte black and brushed nickel anodize are our standard outdoor finishes. Powder-coated colors are fine in shade or indoors; in full sun for years, anodize is the safer spec.

Joint strength is set by the tube wall and the connector engagement length, not just the material. Aluminum connectors are sized for our aluminum tube walls (typically 1.5-2.0 mm) and pass the same straight-run joint check for handrail loads. Where a spec demands steel-level strength on a long span, we move the whole rail to stainless rather than mixing an aluminum connector into a steel rail.

Aluminum tube outer diameters vary between suppliers, so the safest route is ordering tube and fittings together - the spigot is machined to our tube inner diameter. If you already have the rail, send us a cut-off of the tube end with inner/outer diameter and wall measured, and we confirm whether the stock connector fits or needs a slight machine change.

Samples run at 1 pc (a sample fee may apply), so a handful of caps for existing rails is easy to cover. Standard pricing starts at 50 pcs per item.
