Frequently Asked Questions
Does the 90 degree stop still work if the hinge is non-spring?
Yes. The 90 degree stop is a mechanical limit in the hinge body - it prevents the door from swinging past a right angle, regardless of whether a spring is fitted. The non-spring part simply means the door will not return to closed on its own; it stays wherever it is pushed, up to the 90 degree stop. You get both: a defined swing and free positioning.
What is needed to mount this hinge on a tiled wall?
The hinge must anchor into solid wall structure - wood stud, steel framing, or masonry. On a tiled drywall wall, locate the stud behind the tile and use the supplied screws; if there is no stud at the hinge position, install a reinforced plate or header first. Improper anchoring is the main cause of wall hinges pulling loose on glass doors.
Which glass thickness is this 90 degree hinge for?
It is made for 8-12mm tempered glass. The door leaf clamps the glass with rubber gaskets and through-bolts through pre-drilled holes, so the glass must be drilled before tempering. We supply the drilling template. For a 90 degree wall-mounted door, two hinges are typical; use three if the panel is tall or the door is wide.
Why would I pick this brass hinge over a stainless one?
Brass is chosen for its warm, machined appearance - it suits traditional and boutique hotel-style bathrooms, and it is a real material difference, not just a color. The trade-off is maintenance: brass needs the coating kept intact and occasional wiping in a steamy shower. If you prefer no maintenance, the same hinge is available in SUS304 or SUS316 stainless.
Is there any resistance when the door swings?
Very little. A non-spring hinge has no spring resistance, so the door moves freely with a light push and stops at the 90 degree limit. The pivot is machined and the movement stays smooth over time. There is no catch or damper in this model - if you want a soft-close action, tell us and we will point you to the damped version.
Can I test this hinge before ordering in volume?
Yes, samples start at 1 piece; a sample fee may apply and is refundable once you place a production order. Standard orders start at 50 pieces; OEM orders with custom colors or your logo need a 500-piece minimum. Lead time is 15-25 days. Note your glass thickness and door swing side on the sample request.
