What does the 180 degree swivel mean on this connector?
The connector joins two glass panels edge to edge in a straight line (180 degrees), and the swivel body lets you adjust the angle during installation so the two panels line up exactly. It is a drilling-type fitting: both panels are drilled and the connector bolts through with gaskets. It is built for 10-16 mm glass.
Which glass thickness does this connector accept?
10-16 mm tempered glass. That is the thicker end of frameless hardware, typical for mall and office entrance doors where the panels are heavy. The spacer set is sized to that range, so panels outside 10-16 mm will not seat correctly.
How does the swivel adjustment work in practice?
The body has a swivel joint that turns over the adjustment range before you torque it down, so you can compensate for slight misalignment between the two glass edges. Once the screws are tightened to spec, the joint locks rigid. This is handy on sites where the supporting structure is not perfectly square.
Is this a drilling or clamping connector?
Drilling. Both glass panels get holes using our template, then the connector bolts through with gaskets on both faces. Because it bolts through, it suits 10-16 mm glass where a clamp-only fitting would not hold. We supply the template with the order for the fabricator.
Do I need extra bracing when joining two heavy panels?
For typical mall and office entrance panels, the connector used at the right spacing is the normal solution. But with very large or heavy panels, positioning and bracing are a site-engineering decision. Send us your panel sizes and we will advise on connector spacing and whether extra fixings are needed.
What finishes and material options are available on the 705?
The body is 304 stainless with brushed nickel, chrome, or matte black as stock; custom colors are available on OEM orders. If the installation is near salt water or a pool, ask about upgrading to 316 material for better corrosion resistance.
