Round Glass Railing Post Stainless Steel Glass Post System for Balcony and Staircase

1100mm is the post length. For a standard residential balcony or staircase balustrade, railing height requirements often sit around 1100mm, so this is a common stock size. Confirm your local guardrail height rule — many jurisdictions require 1100mm minimum above the finished floor level. The glass panels and handrail sit on or beside the post, so the installed height depends on your system layout.

It is a hollow round post, the standard construction for glass railing systems: it keeps the weight down while giving the stiffness needed to hold glass panels. The fixing happens at the base (bolted to the floor) and at the top (handrail or wall fixing), so the structural path is base-to-glass-to-handrail. We don't publish a raw post strength figure; for high-traffic or wind-exposed sites, send us the layout and we'll advise spacing.

Typically with a base plate and anchor or expansion bolts into concrete, or onto a steel structure. The post is set plumb, then the glass clamps (which we also supply) mount to the post and hold the panels. For a wooden deck, use the appropriate fixing and make sure the structure can carry the railing load — if your deck structure is light, tell us and we'll recommend the fixing.

Our glass clamps for 10–12mm panels are the matched pair — the clamp bolts to the post and grips the glass edge. The post can also work with our base shoe/channel or point-fix systems depending on the look you want. Send us your glass thickness and the layout (post spacing, panel size) and we'll confirm the clamp model and spacing.

The post is SUS304 as standard. For coastal or pool environments where salt spray is constant, 316 is the better long-term choice — 304 will eventually show pitting in those conditions. Tell us the site when ordering; for outdoor marine locations we'll quote the 316 version and advise on finishes (brushed nickel, chrome, matte black, custom).
