X-Type Four Arm Spider Fitting for Point-Supported Glass Systems

Toto four arm spider fitting from AOYU features an X-shaped configuration with four glass fixing positions arranged around a central mounting point. Manufactured from AISI 304 stainless steel, this 200mm fitting provides a practical connection component for architectural point-supported glazing systems.

Its four-arm structure supports glass connections in four directions, making it suitable for selected glass facade and curtain wall layouts. The polished stainless steel finish also complements modern architectural glazing where the hardware remains visible.

X-Type Four Arm Spider Fitting Design

The X-shaped body features four arms extending diagonally from a central mounting section. Each arm terminates in a circular connection end for compatible glass fixing hardware.

Unlike single-arm, two-arm, or three-arm spider fittings, this configuration provides four separate connection positions around one central support.

Four-Way Glass Connection Configuration

""

The design includes:

  • Four arms with individual glass fixing positions

  • X-shaped arrangement for four-direction glazing connections

  • Central mounting hole for attachment to a supporting structure

  • Circular and slotted connection openings as shown in the technical drawing

  • Polished stainless steel construction for exposed architectural hardware

This configuration is particularly useful in glazing layouts where four fixing positions meet around a common structural connection.

AISI 304 Stainless Steel Material and Finish

AOYU manufactures this X-type spider fitting from AISI 304 stainless steel with a polished (PSS) surface finish.

AISI 304 offers corrosion resistance for many architectural environments. Furthermore, the polished surface provides a clean metallic appearance that works well with transparent glass panels and contemporary building designs.

For installations exposed to highly corrosive environments, customers should confirm material suitability before selecting the fitting.

200mm Four Arm Spider Fitting Dimensions

The product features a 200mm center-to-center span between the outer fixing positions in both the horizontal and vertical directions.

According to the supplied dimensional drawing, the fitting includes:

    • Horizontal center-to-center span: 200mm

    • Vertical center-to-center span: 200mm

    • Central mounting hole diameter: Ø18mm

    • Outer diameter of the circular arm ends: 45mm

    • Circular end opening: Ø27mm

    • Slotted end opening: 18 × 28mm

      ""

These dimensions help customers evaluate the fitting against their structural connection requirements.

However, installers should always check the complete technical drawing before preparing mounting components or finalizing a glazing layout.

Load Note: The stated Fx and Fy values apply to each individual arm. They are not the rated capacity of the complete installed glazing system. A qualified professional must verify the glass, fasteners, support structure, and project loading conditions.

      Compatible 1816 Glass Holder

Tento four arm glass spider fitting is compatible with the model 1816 glass holder.

The holder connects the spider fitting to the specified glass fixing assembly. Since the 1816 holder is sold separately, customers can order the required accessories according to their project configuration.

Before ordering, confirm the glass specification, fixing arrangement, and mounting requirements to ensure component compatibility.

Applications of Four Arm Spider Fittings

      Glass Facades and Curtain Walls

The X-shaped configuration provides four fixing positions around a central support. Therefore, it can be incorporated into engineered point-supported glass facade and curtain wall systems.

      Glass Canopies and Awnings

Four-arm spider fittings can also be used in suitable glass canopy and awning designs. In these applications, the supporting structure and complete fixing assembly must meet the project’s structural requirements.

      Architectural Glazing Projects

Additional applications may include commercial entrance glazing, glass shopfronts, and custom architectural glass structures where four-way point connections are required.

      ""

      Installation and Structural Considerations

Before installation, verify the 200mm connection layout against the approved project drawings.

Next, confirm that the selected 1816 glass holders, fasteners, and supporting structure are suitable for the intended glazing arrangement.

The installer should also inspect the fitting and ensure that the mounting connections are correctly positioned.

Finally, the complete system must undergo project-specific structural verification, including the relevant wind, dead, and other applicable loads.
